More Rental Properties

While there is no central database for rental properties, I have found a few websites to be very helpful for clients.   

More rental listings at:

www.Realtor.com  - This information is syndicated from the MLS, making it very similar to the database that agents and property managers use.

www.AHRN.com  - This wesite is used mostly by military personell that are relocating.

www.HotPads.com  - Another website that receives its data via syndication feeds from a variety of soures.

www.WestSideRentals.com  - Another website that receives its data via syndication feeds from a variety of soures.

http://sandiego.craigslist.org - Be very careful with properties on Craigslist!  While there are some great opportunities, there are also numerous scams and misinformation.  If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  Please make sure you confirm all of the information with the county tax records and make sure that there is not a Notice of Default or Notice of Trustees Sale filed on the property.  These notices would indicate that the owner is in the foreclosure process (although not necessarily losing the home to foreclosure- a process that can take several months at the very least).
